Students in Ms. Ritsma’s history celebrated the end of their unit on Medieval history by tasting several recipes from, “The Forme of Cury”, which was written about 1395. Students tasted:
Gourd Soup
Soft Gingerbread with Fruit
Sugared Lasagna
Lemon Puddings
This cookbook was a collection of recipes used in Richard II’s court. Unfortunately for Richard, this was the only lasting legacy of his reign as he ruled poorly and was a very unpopular monarch.
