Northwestern Wins Midget Boys Overall Team Points Title!

Makayla Roy sets Huron-Perth records in Shot-Put and Javelin!

Xavier Ollivier Wins the Top Midget Boy Individual Award with three Gold Medals (Pole Vault, 100 metre and 200 metre)!

Day Two of the Huron Perth Track and Field Championships at St. Annes CSS in Clinton saw an additional 19 Huskies qualify in 22 events for the WOSSAA championships next week in London. The Huskies won an additional 13 medals on Day Two (5 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronze). This brings Northwestern’s total two day Huron-Perth medal count to 33 (14 Gold, 12 Silver and 7 Bronze) in qualifying athletes in 51 events for WOSSAA.

 

Makayla Roy made history on day two as she set two Huron-Perth Championship records making her the top junior thrower of all-time at Huron-Perth in her events! Makayla set her first record of the day in the Junior Girls Shot Put throwing a personal best 12.21 metres, smashing the existing record of 10.77 metres.  Makayla’s second Huron-Perth record came in the Junior Girls Javelin where she threw 33.45 metres breaking the previous record of 31.85 metres.

Xavier Ollivier won the Midget Boy individual award with three Gold Medals (Pole Vault, 100 metre and 200 metre).

The Huskies are in action at the WOSSAA Track and Field Championships next Friday and Saturday May 24 & 25 at Western University in London.

OFSAA (York University in Toronto) is Thursday to Saturday, June 7 – 9.
