On Friday, February 26th, Grade 11 and 12 students visited Western University and their Social Science Department. This is our annual pilgrimage to the university to learn more about their programme and university academia. Students participated in three varied workshops on Sociocultural/Linguistic Anthropology (the study of people), Biological Anthropology (the study of bones), and we finished off with our day with a session on Archaeology. Many students who attended are very much interested in attending Western for post-secondary studies. The grad students at Western were enthusiastic and passionate about their studies and we came home feeling pretty pumped about our experiences during the day.
