Carter Stock Places 5’th at OFSAA Javelin!

n a highly competitive field of 24 of the top Junior (grade 10) boys Javelin throwers in the province, Stratford Northwestern’s Carter Stock placed a remarkable 5’th at the OFSAA Track & Field championships held at the University of Guelph on Saturday, June 8! Stock threw a personal best effort and Northwestern record of of 49.69 metres on his second attempt of the competition.

Stock missed the podium and a Bronze medal by only 95 cm. He accomplished his goals of setting a new personal best distance, establishing a new Northwestern record, and qualifying for the OFSAA Final (top 8 competitors after three rounds receive an additional three throws). Congrats to Carter for rising to the occasion with a personal best performance under the immense pressure of the OFSAA stage! He looks forward to his first year of senior boys competition next year. Northwestern and Coach Johnson are very proud!
